I have a set of very nice seats from my daughter's Miata. Adjusters work perfect, they will be going on ebay soon unless someone would be interested in making her an offer. THey are black and in very good condition. They don't have the speakers. Greg "Greg Hahs" 14975... MORE

G'day Michael I have a mate with a fully restored Mk I MG Midget, complete with the correct (and correctly coloured) steering wheel, horn push and cowl. He also has a genuine factory hardtop, rear seat cushion and Ace Mercury wheel trims to go with it. He is a perfectionist. Good thing is - he drives the car regularly, at least weekly, and comes on long country drives with the SpriteCar Club or Aust. Whilst it has won every Concourse it has enterred, he can see no point in it sitting in his garage. Next to, as it happens,... MORE

Actually, I think the "inch" is US, and the rest of the world uses MM, which I think we were going to switch over to 5-10 years ago, but then it never happened. Bob, Troutdale, OR "Robert Webb" 14936... MORE

Refer to picture at http://www.ado13.com/temp/se.jpg Measurements were done with a flexible seamstress measuring tape. Horizontal measurements are from the edge of the rubber taillight gasket to the tips of the arrow. Vertical measurements are from the edge of the body panel to the tips of the arrow. Sorry I can't tell exactly where the holes are but you should be able to figure it out. Larry Miller http://www.ado13.com "Larry & Sandi Miller" 14930... MORE

The trannies are interchangeable to RHD or LHD, slave or mecjanical, it merely requires a different front cover to do this. Best, Paul A "Paul Asgeirsson" 14886... MORE

I haven't seen the actual bolts, washers and nuts available in Moss or Vic for the hardware that attaches seat bottom to back. Looks like the bolt is a part of the seat bottom frame only. Can I get these parts anywhere? Thanks, Mark "mglevicky" 14876... MORE

I can't tell you about what is included in the kit because I haven't bought one yet, but I about a year ago, I did an interesting red color study. My bugeye was originally Cherry Red with the Red interior. In talking to Biff Jones ( http://sprites2.homestead.com/ ) I learned that the red interior in his pristine '62 Sprite was the same red. Also, Bill French of South Carolina had pulled an original red interior out of his car and sent me a few samples. I ordered swatches from AH Spares, Victoria British, Moss and Heritage Upholstery and compared... MORE

Just a quickie: It seems that by now somebody would have manufactured locally some wrenches that are curved and would reach those little bugeye weird spots where the body is curved and you're expected to get a lockwasher and nut on there without dropping it down inside the dark depths of the unknown. i.e. the very last screws for the rear cockpit surround. Is there such a beast out there? I ask, as I will be addressing those little boogers again shortly. I remember what a bear it was the last time. Speak, oh Swami's of the bugs. Allsup... MORE

The nut will be exposed with backside sticking to tape, washer can held by making a pocket around it with the tape or a spot of grease. After you get it started you can then switch to the proper wrence either taped to hand or tie a string around it for when you drop it :-) "Larry & Sandi Miller" 14845... MORE

anyone buy a kit from AH spares. Hows the color red?? anyone know. When you buy the kits do you just get the vinyl or do you also get the panels to put the stuff on?? thanks "Max Harrison" 14831... MORE

The kits come pre-made, vinyl already on the panels, except for the dash. The only red I've seen is the door stop straps and that looks correct. "Larry & Sandi Miller" 14833... MORE

I just replaced my BE seats and foam kits from Victoria British. Blue on Blue Bugeye standard. Woops, just means last August. I don't know what their price is now!! The kit went on pretty well for an novice upholstery guy. the best way to get excellent gass millage is to lie about it!!!! Gas story - I drove from Corvallis, OR to LaGrande, OR a distance of 350 miles. Wanting adventure I stayed off the freeway I5/I84 and crossed the mountains over to Prineville. FWIW, I am running a 1275 W/HS-4's. The PO had installed #6 needles and I was getting about 15 MPG. BC convinced me to switch to NG's and I think I am getting about 35 MPG before switching to the 5 speed. The plugs don't come out heavy black carbon any more either. Bob, Troutdale, OR P.S. You must have a very outdated catalog as my newest one states a price for the seat covers at $336.00 and the seat cushion kit, times 2 at $252.00 making a grand total of $588.00. Now that MOSS has raised the minimum, for free shipping, to $600.00 you now have to pay freight or else pony up for a few more goodies. I get a pretty fair discount from them but it is still almost what you are quoting here. BC****** "British Classics" 14807... MORE

Hello all; Just looking for some expert opinions. I purchased a 59 bugeye about 5 years ago from a neighbour who was downsizing with the intentions of doing what I had to in order to get it on the road. Prior to me buying the car it came off the road and sat in the neighbours garage for 12+ years. When I bought it I gassed it up, checked the fluids and started it with the first turn of the key. 3- 4 minutes later, the gas tank and water pump started leaking so I shut it off and... MORE

Hi Paul, Rear seal is the same, gasket set is different only on the front cover gasket. Better yet is not to use any gaskets and instead seal it up with Permatex Ultra Grey 599BR. All mating surfaces should be free of nicks and burrs. Figure for your bearing shims a gasket thickness of .003" instead of the paper gaskets of .010". Been doing this for almost 20 years with no gaskets. No leaks, either. Gaskets always leak. Best, Paul A "Paul Asgeirsson" 14733... MORE

The "hot" wIre from the horn connects to the slip ring in the steering column plinth. the brush rubs against this slip ring and carries power to the horn btton which is the switch. When pressed, this completes the circuit to the steering shaft which is grounded through the steering rack. Check, steering wheel off, whether the slip ring is hot. Just jump it to the steering shaft and the horn should sound. "joe blxfstz" 14718... MORE
