Bentley look like they are the cars to beat this year, shame it's now an Audi brand though the chassis are British. We would normally go but cash is a bit tight this year it's a trip to Le Mans or a deposit on a new heating system. A good source for all the latest info and chat is www.clubarnage.com. If you can ever come over to Europe at that time the race is well worth attending. The atmosphere is fantastic. There are ususally tens of thousands of brits there many of whom drive down in either classics or... MORE

Just bought and watched "Le Mans"on DVD. WOW! Wife didn't get it ,but I was riveted. Maybe next life I'll drive the thing. I'm hoping our British contingent will keep us up on MGs effort this year. How many listers are going? The Audis will probably make it boring in LMP900, but the other classes should be fun. Jay Shaffer ITC #66 '76 Midget "This ain't no beauty contest" Jay Shaffer 21751... After being unable to play in this forum for some time I have rejoined and am again ready to trade info or whatever on my British obsession. FYI-My particular pain is a 1975 Midget 1500. When purchased nearly 4 years ago only the body showed signs of hope. Hell, it even smelled bad. Today the car has a new interior, engine, tranny, driveshaft, radiator, electronic ignition, rebuilt/replaced hydraulics, front tube shock conversion, electric fan, GM pickup truck alternator and much more. Saturday, I am ditching my wire wheels and replacing them with 5.5 inch wide racing mags (H Production... MORE

Really! I'm afraid I cannot help you on what you need Dennis (sorry) but that's quite a project you've got going. I had gotten as far as a BE bonnet on a '67 before I lost the car in an accident, just after purchasing a fibreglass Frog rear clip. which has since been resold. I think Colin Dodds in the land of OZ knows of one of these called a "Fright" all done up in BRG...pretty cool. I think it's got a normal Spridget "mid-section" including cockpit but fore and aft are definitely Frogeye....cool car! You going metal or... MORE

Yesterday I happened to be in Bakersfield California returning from a 4,633 mile round trip to Louisiana when outside the window of the restaurant I was having breakfast at was parked a 74 MG Midget. A woman left the restaurant and headed toward it. Curious I rushed out and spoke to her. "There is a big British car event nearby in Buttyonwillow" she said. "You should go over and have a look" she added. Seeing that is was only a mile off I 5 which I was headed for that seemed like a good suggestion, even though dark pendulous... MORE

0s. You can get a lot of e 'old' 900 (K reg and before). ith the backs seat down. It has been reliable and cheap to insure, true! But, when I said practical I meant a car in which you don't need to wear a blanket over you in the winter, will sit on the motorway at 85mph and will carry surfboards! ********************************************************************** This message is confidential as it contains information about the person we are sending it to. David C...Yes you can. Recall I am a P/T digital camera rep. Many have internal memory so extra cards are not needed, but sometimes more memory is nice. Most come with software and batteries, but a rechargeable battery is something to consider. You can e-mail your photos to many on line print companies who will mail you prints in 3 days. Or you can go to many local printers for in house service, or print at home. There are many choices. I would recommend 3 Mp and Optical zoom. As stated before, check out ease of use, and the... I do 8-10k miles a year in my mk2 Sprite so they can be practical you just have to spend a bit of time and money fixing all the problems that have bui lt up through the neglect of previous ownership. Yes you might spend some money on it but eventually every problem will be fixed and you'll have a re liable car that is cheap to maintain and insure and doesn't depreciate. one you own! Finally decided that the Midget is not a practical car when it's the only o ne you own! It's in pretty good nick as it had a full rebuild of engine & body around 1 0 years ago. There are a few cosmetic spots of rust appearing, but no rot as yet. I've got some pics on: http://uk.photos.yahoo.com/superfluker Since we've owned it (my wife has been driving to work everyday in it) we'v e spent a fair amount of cash on repairs, including your standard servicing (at MG specialist), new exhaust, fuel pipes, wiring problems and seized st eering... Hi Steve, Just logged on to the Z600 pic. It looks exactly like mine, right down to the filled in channels on the roof, and the lack of the black stripe along the side. It could even be mine, but I don't recognise the background. Margaret South Lincolnshire (UK) mmbrock88@... 21583... MORE

Has anyone in the UK got a hard top for an early Mk1 Midget that they would be willing to sell? Also, a pair of original bucket seats, (not the modern glassfibre ones)? Anything considered, regardless of condition Thanks, Margaret South Lincolnshire (UK) mmbrock88@... 21545... MORE

Totally understand you, Nigel. And have no problem with your point of view. Commendable......but not always practical in all situations. 1959: When I owned my first Bugeye, the New England Thruway (RT. 95) was just being built going through CT. We used to used the "closed" portions of this "new highway" as a drag strip before it opened. I am not even sure the speed limit was anything over 50 on the Merritt Parkway (RT 15) back then. The 948cc engine with the 4.22 dif. was perfectly adequate, accordingly. Well, of course, things changed. I became a commercial pilot... MORE

Thanks, Your the only one who has said STOP ! I most probably will not make the change. My car is all orig, except the new Yellow paint and the Locally made floor mat. Hi Steve, Which Honda 600 have you got? S600 or Z600? I can't remember of hand how long each are, but we had a Honda S800 some years ago, (same body as the S600) and have just sold a Z600. The N600, however, is much rarer, only 2 known to be on the road, one being mine, the other owned by the person who has just bought my Z600. I love Hondas as much as MG's. We currently have 4 MG's and 5 Hondas. As well as several other cars!! Margaret South Lincolnshire (UK) mmbrock88@... 21517... MORE

Brad, Berkleys are a fibre glass car (kit car) of the 60's and 70's. Originally a three wheeler, 2 at front one at back so could be driven using a motorcycle driving licence. but also a four wheeled followed. Originally Powered by Royal Enfield motorcycle engine , 2 cyl at first then 3 cylinder. Some people started modifying them and fitted mini cooper S engines etc . They were used in competition, having 3 wheels they qualify as motorcycle combinations, though Morgans with 1000cc V twin JAP engines , tend to dominate though. We have a couple in our... MORE
