Bill- This is why the "timing marks" are "on top" on my new Rivergate motor; it was actually a condition of them building it!! You see, having the timing marks "on the bottom" was part if a "revenge" thing, a "commie-pinko" type of plot. This is what the British did to get even with us for "breaking away" in the first place and winning "that" war in the second place. They produce this neat little car and drive us nuts with Lucas electrics and timing marks in the most ludicrous of places. (Could you find a more ridiculous spot... MORE

Any large waterproof sheeting will do the trick. Tied with string at the corners to hold it in place, it can cover the whole car, keeping it nice and dry all over. Then you can look out for a tonneau in good condition at your leisure!. This arrangement worked for me for a time. Margaret South Lincolnshire (UK) mmbrock88@... 8969... MORE

Paul, Your search for a tonneau cover just got complicated by the pics of the car. That is unless the pics have been reversed. Finding a used right hand drive tonneau cover in the states will be difficult if not impossible! I suspect you will have to Europe/England to find a source for right hand tonneaus. Tonneaus after the bugeyes are right or left handed. A left handed tonneau will not fit properly due to the steering wheel cut out. Best bet will be to get a small tarp and some small bungee cords to use till you can... MORE

Sure Cap'n, why not... make it a '62, then you'd have a REALLY rare Bugeye! For those that didn't bother to read this information the last two times I posted it (once just in the last two weeks), here I go again. There were only 44 '61 Bugeyes ever made and they were CKD. (completely knocked down) assembled and painted in Australia, and not even using the same colors as all other Bugeyes. They also have there own number prefix which is different form US and Home Market cars. Also, they are all RHD. Anyway the last guy who... MORE

Hi, My name is Mike Knaub and I am from the Long Island, New york area. I have owned a '63 Sprite MkII for 26 years. I do most of the work on this car myself, In fact no one else has touched it in over 24 years! I enjoy talking to other owners and just like to work on British cars. Over the years I have been on and off again with interest in my Sprite due to health problems. But now I am definatly ON again and hope to have the car on the road this spring.... MORE

Hi, Alan- I've no idea what "Croche" is talking about; absolutely none at all! As for myself, a ride on a motorbike is not a ride in a Spridget, though I realize your's are both "down" at this point in time. So, "no soup for you" 'til you get at least one of your LBC's up and runnin', mate!! On the other hand, I take the foregoing back in view of the fact I used a Honda "125" to commute from my apartment in Queens to my place of business in NYC back in the 60's, while learning to... Hi! I am located in the San francisco Bay area. Are there a lot of places around here for used parts? It doesn't have a top, door windows etc, but they are not that important yet, what I need ASAP is a toneau cover if anyone has a spare they would sell cheaply to a fellow enthusiast to... MORE
