Hi Folks, The Midget & Sprite Brooklands review page is coming together slowly. I have added 30 pix grabbed from my video camera of the event earlier on today here: http://www.mgcars.org.uk/midgetspriteclub/brooklands2000.html Some jottings will be added with due course. I big thanks to all those that turned up and made the day. Chris Nevard "Chris Nevard" 4789... MORE

I asked on this site probably four months ago (with no luck)if any one knew of a really cute red Frogeye/Bugeye with white interior (red piping),which I'd seen in Key West. Florida. I wanted to thank the owner as it's because of this very car, that an Englishman (me) decided when he got home, to buy a Frogeye. I'd never even sat in one,let alone driven one and thought it funny that I had to go all the way to the USA to find a little British Car to fall in love with. Well now(finally getting around to the... MORE

The other day there was a question about an upcoming show in the BMW Center in S.C. I know nothing of that show but, there is an British car day in Charleston, SC. Oct 26-28. Contact is Jim Clees 843-795-6636 ( diambert@... ) Bill AN5 Hilton Head frenchww@... 4753... MORE

Jeff, Thanks a lot for the information. Where can I get a stud, from a regular auto parts place like NAPA or do I have to go to a British Car Place. Moss does not list the studs in their catalogue. It was a front wheel that the stud is broken from. John Poynton Havertown PA 79 Midget yellow Fever teachjp@... 4729... MORE

Whilst on holiday, time is unimportant. Drinking comes first, and only when we feel we have had enough, do we retire for what is left of the night. Laptop travels with us, so asd to keep up to date with everyone, and not have too many e-mails to wade through on our return home (If we ever get there this time, but that's another story) Margaret South Lincolnshire (UK) On Holiday in Ireland mmbrock88@... 4737... Has anyone heard of a 1275cc Midget Goldseal engine being sprayed Gold! or green with a gold rocker cover? My frogeye has the latter. I'm sure there's tons of stuff on the Midget & Sprite Website archives about this - I know - I contributed some! Where IS that FAQ page?! FACT: I've owned 2 GAN5 1971 Midgets, both with original, unremoved, unrebuilt engines: 12CE DA H/16051 built May '71 registered July '71 12CE DA H/17373 built June '71 registered Aug '71 Engines were both as Black as the winner of a Being A Very Black Thing competition. Tad We all know that you're hurting over there. What happened in NY and in Washington was just unbelievable. Remember though that we are no strangers to terrorist violence in the UK - admittedly on a much smaller scale but just as real to those who lost family in Warrington, Canary Wharf, Omagh or any number of places over the last 30 years. Perhaps the American people will react differently next time someone asks them to donate for 'the boys' in Northern Ireland to allow them to continue 'the struggle'... Its time that terrorism was wiped out wherever it... MORE

Amen, James- Local or international, it is no different. This s%%t has got to be stopped by agreement of all nations. You have a good point! The next time it happens "over there", we "over here" will have a lot more empathy for others. Though we all wish it had never happened, good often does come out of bad. We Americans over here should also take a lesson from our British counterparts as to what they suffered in the Battle of Britain in terms of their ability to rapidly bounce back in times of adversity and "get back on... Dave It sounds to me like your engine is sucking air somewhere... (vacuum leak as you indicate) I suggest you check the carb gaskets and that all the breather hoses and vacumm advance pipes are in the correct place. I'd ignore the plugs until you are sure you have a sealed inlet system. It is quite possible that a '67 car would be sold in '68 - they used to sit around at the docks for quite a while... Conversion from positive to negative earth is a common modification - especially if you want to fit a radio/cassette/cd player.... MORE

Yes. Interestingly (to me anyway), according to my title, this is a '68, but according to the serial number list in my Moss catalog, this is a model year '67. I'm (obviously) a little confused about the state of this car, as the tach indicates "positive ground", and my information would indicate (based on serial #) that it should be positive ground, yet it is set up negative ground... there has been a lot of amateur work done in the past, so it is going to be tough to undo... I may have to bite the bullet and take... MORE

I am interested in purchasing a sales brochure for a froeye ( bugeye). It is pictured in Lindsay Porter's," Austin-Healey Frogeye Sprite" on page 49 in figure C 1 and C 2. Stuart, I would suggest that you look at either the Minators that both Moss and Victoria British handle or Panasport wheels. The Minators are on sale some times @ $399.00 for a set. At that price they are hard to beat. They are also the right offset and width. I've included a picture showing them on my son's '76 Midget. If interested in the Minators, contact Dick Burger @ The British Parts Connection Email him at mail@... Regards, Tom Speed "Thomas Speed" 4573... MORE

Good day, all, My car still has a really soft brake pedal. On advise from the list,I have flushed out all the dot5-and replaced it with dot4. That was done using one of those clever pressure bleed thingys-also the fluid is a different colour-so I know the "old" has been replaced with the new. My car does not have any adjustment at all with regard to the pedal position as far as I can see.My workshop manual shows adjustment at the brake light switch____-my switch is in the brake lines at the distribution block near the master cylinder. Other suggestions... MORE
