For a while it was fashionable to have the horn on the end of the indicator stalk. I can't remember what age your car is so I am not sure whether this is applicable in your case, but a po might have fitted the later type of indicator stalk retrospectively, even if it is an earlier car. I don't know if this helps but is just a couple of thoughts on the subject.
