Don...going through old mail and came
across this. Maybe I've got something
to learn here...
I respect the other guy's right to see things his way and his point of
view...
I neither argue or debate...rather I discuss...and in a friendly way.
This is
the USA after all, not Iraq, Libya or other
lands controlled by governments which
are intolerant to a greater extent than us,
in certain respects.
No human is perfect. We all make mistakes. We try to correct them when
we can. Governments are made up of
humans.
Will somebody please tell me what the
USA did to justify the targeting (civilian,
not military target) and destruction of
two buildings by napalm located within a city containing hundreds of
thousands of unarmed, innocent civilians
by a group of men from the Middle East?
(Under other circumstances, this could
have been much worse, BTW. We were
lucky).
I mean, I can understand the Pentagon or
even the White House, etc. But the WTC
at an hour wherein these buildings would be containing thousands of
innocent human beings...in a civilian population
center...at an hour wherein as many as
possible would be present?
You realize the foregoing notwithstanding,
the whole "event" in whole or in part is an
act of war against the USA by those who
are behind and support such groups of
men for whatever reason(s) they care to
choose?
Whether we realize it or not, the people
behind those who did the deed have
decided to solve their problems, gripes
or further their political objectives..... whatever...by picking up a
gun and discharging it in our direction, thus attacking us.
How is the USA responsible for THEIR
choice in this respect, 'cause I think you're
extending yourself for the RIGHT reasons
to the WRONG people, most especially
in the extent of their mission along with their choice of target(s).
I mean morally, I've nothing in common
with these people or their leaders, nor
those governments or groups that support
them in any manner, shape or form. Either do the majority of Americans,
many of
whom are immigrants or the sons and/or daugthers of same. I know I am.
And BTW, we go through this in every
conflict or war. There are always the
dissenters and thank God there are....
consider Veitnam fr'instance. What the
hell was that all about, anyway, if not
American corporate big business interests
(as far as I can determine, anyway).
