Not from what I've just seen in Terry Horler's Original Sprite and Midget, they
most definitely look stamped from the top - same as mine, same model
version too. There is a distinctive 'cut' into the plate from above you can't
achieve that effect from stamping from the bottom, and the letters aren't
raised they're indented.
