Thanks Bob and David,
The dzus fasteners sound like a great way to go. Never had any direct experience with them so I looked them up on the web. Always something new to learn, now to find them and figure things out. Would love to have some photos of them being used on a bonnet or drawings.
I like the idea of the least obvious fastener. I find straps and such break up the body lines. Changing back to the original round end tail lights worked very well as I knew that they were designed for the original fender rear design lines and the later squared off ones were only an attempt to square off the end and make it look longer to meet market sales demands of a later period. Back to the basic design.
