Hardnot and Wrynose are on the same road, two successive passes seperated by a lower section called Wrynose Bottom.
(put that in for Cap'n's amusement!).
Yes, this is the road that I travel in the sprite, perhaps 10 or 15 times each year.
For those who don't know it it is single track, 3.5 metres wide - that's is the tarmac width and that is all you get. No hard shoulder on these roads, so if you are off, then you are really off!
It has several 1:3 inclines, and has a continual succession of corners, hairpins, and blind summits. Apart from the length through Wrynose Bottom which is, as Alan says, fairly straight, most of it gives you no more than a few yards of clear view with the occasional glimpse of the road ahead as it winds through rocky outcrops and heather moorland.
