The MG died because there wasn't the money to modernize it, so they
tried to patch up a twenty year old design (the running gear was 30+
years old) and noboby wanted them.
As far as "not that we are bigger" - Well, speak for yourself. My
Sprite has shrunk three sizes in the last 45 years. Must not have
been sanforized and left out in the rain too often.
