the glass is replaced by removing and disassembling the screen frame (which
presumably you'll be doing anyway, if you replace one of the posts) The
setscrews holding it to the body are up under the corners of the dashboard.
There are three or four phillips head screws at each corner plus the centre
stay, holding the frame together. You might find you need to drill out the
screws but you can get stainless steel replacements. Try and make a note of
which length screws come out of which holes - a problem for the unwary is
to put too long a screw in the wrong hole and crack the nice new glass when
it's tightened up. I think this is more common with MGB windscreens than
Spridgets though.
If you are repacing the sealing rubber as well, you might find the new one
is a very tight, so use some lubricant - some people use liquid
soap/washing up liquid; I used Waxoyl, to try and preserve the steel corner
brackets the screws go into. Also make sure the rubber is located correctly
in relation to the glass - mine is 'rotated' about 1/8" out, so there's a
tiny kink at one corner - not bad enough to cause leaks or anything to make
me redo it, but enough to annoy me whenever it catches my eye!
