The dimmer switch strikes again. A common source of headlight problems particularly with older spridgets that have sat for long periods of time and are not driven at night often. Not enough mechanical action to keep the internal contacts cleaned of oxidation or simple vibration from use to keep the spade lugs from oxidation build up. Had this same problem recently with my Midget MK1.
