It is times like this, when many of you share stories about your wives, your spouses, your friends and I sit and remain silent I am only too aware that my silence is a form of lying. I do not make up stories anymore to protect myself as I did when young, was forced to for emotional and personal safety, but I still find myself playing the silent game while the rest of you batter back and forth about your spouses.
Many of you are fortunate to have supportive spouses and those who kid about their wives nagging them about their toys, in this case our spridgets, do so full knowing that they love them in spite of it.
Awhile back one of you, sorry I forget who, shared in a humorous way how his wife would react if he brought home another spridget, dare he push it luck and do it. Although I had gone through much the same experience when I told my spouse I wanted to put another spridget in the already crowded driveway and although I wanted to share my similar experience I remained silent about how after a long discussion, I swearing it would be small and unobtrusive, the neighbors would not be offended, that I wasn't turning the yard into a auto wrecking yard and knowing full well we had too much stuff already and the garage sale has been put off for five years, well, perhaps seven, he finally gave in and said that my happiness was more important that all of those considerations. Since them he has only rolled his eyes and fronted me the money for two more. I know the kitchen sink is not the proper place to clean auto parts, but I try to be considerate and scrub it before he comes home, you see, I too am blessed with a wonderful supportive spouse and this coming spring will also be our 25th, silver anniversary.
