Well, you are close, but no cigar.
It's actually copy of a BMC (not a Leyland) engine. Actually a copy
of the A or B-series engine. Yes, licensed from BMC.
Nissan actually had E-series engine, before their A-series,
which is a duplicate of the A-series engine. It was used in the
early 1200 (Bluebird) cars
