G'day mate.
After deliberating for a long time about the need for extra mirrors -
and I think there is one - I was told about a beautiful set of
mirrors that are made for Harley Davidson motorcycles. They bolt
onto the rear windscreen bolt, just as they come out of the packet.
I've uploaded some photos into the file called "John's Bugeye" in
the photo section of the website.
The pro's - they work well, they look the part, they don't get into
the road of the door, they bolt straight on, no drilling or
modifications are needed, they can easily be removed, they hold the
windscreen securely.
The con's - they have inscipted on their stem "Harley Davidson" - in
small writting.
This was NOT my original idea - I think it came from a member on
this website though, or maybe the bugeye list - so I won't take
credit. They even have an inverted cone at the top of the thread
that fits the windscreen pillar countersink. They were also easy to
obtain, as at the time I knew what model HD they came off. I can't
remember any longer though which one it is, and the model number
isn't on them anywhere I can see. I suggest you go to your nearest
HD shop, or any motorcycle store, and have a look at what they
have. I'm sure that there's other motorcycle mirrors out there that
also fit the same way.
