The new blue /white bulbs appear a lot brighter than the H7 (halogen) ones
they replaced.
They are in my dailyrunner (new shape Rover 214 (like a Honda civic)) with
stupid slitty headlamps. I noticed an immediate improvement using the
Phillips premium bulbs.
Generally, for best illumination, circular lights are best with of course a
true parabolic reflector. The MG version of the 214 has two sets of circular
headlamps surprisingly. 60W main beam I believe.
If you do have glass lenses in the headlamps then a step up in wattage is
also preferable , I can't ever remember anyone getting 'done ' for having
there headlamps too bright !!! although 100W Rallye giants may be a tad
over top. Refer to

I did however read a report that, subjectively, blue bulbs produced more
glare.
However for real brightness.....convert to HID
Phillips say .".More than twice the amount of light of a halogen bulb while
consuming half the power of a halogen bulb."
But check the cost of each bulb first,
Also I believe you need a high freqency generator for each bulb and a
different bulb holder. They are fitted to the new MINIs for example.

BTW apart from originality , why would anyone want to stick with using a
dynamo ?
