Hi Margaret ("over there":)!
With few exceptions, the list has been
very quiet over the last 15 days or so.
This includes the yahoo Bugeye list as
well as the Spridget autox. list.
Why? Well it's gotten colder and we've
turned the clocks back for one but, really
not sure.
Coincident events would include the
awful fires in our state of California on
our west coast wherein 3600 homes have
been lost. Lot of people "hurting"
Quite a few of our listers hail
from out that way I believe.
And of course, whether conciously or
subconciously, we are all affected
by news on the economic scene as
layoffs in this country continue despite
the government's claim the economy has
improved over the recent past along with
less than good news in Iraq as reported
by more than a few mainstream newspapers over here, wherein "headlines"
are now being used (as part
of) as "editorial" pages (interpretation
rather than fact). We have the press
"deciding" how the war is going!!
I think the reality of Global Terrorism
is also finally sinking in over here, in
terms of the "long term" committment
required to beat this. I think a lot of people
are very aware that our past Federal
Government really screwed up very
badly in this respect and continues to
allow the breaking of it's immigration
laws (for reasons unknown) by failing
to shore up it's borders, which is totally
illogical considering there are not enough
jobs for those already here, along with
the global terrorism aspect of this as
well.
Then again, maybe everyone is beginning
to realize that "politically correct" thinking
and "diplomacy" can result in avoiding
"truth", which prevents problem solving
at the source. So, true to the "American
Way", we keep taking "aspirin" to make
the "symptoms" go away but never solve
the problem at it's "source" (so as to prevent it in future). We do this
locally,
nationally and internationally, although
there may be some hope yet in the latter
respect. We'll see "over time". Good leadership isn't exactly our strong
point
these days.

"leaders" promulgate lowering the passing
grade to 55% (from 65%) because not
enough kids are passing....I mean it doesn't get much dumber than
this...and
this from our alleged "leaders" who are
supposed to be "educated" in their
professions. Yep....these people sure do
know that is best for our kids, eh?
Then of course, some people in the
Democratic Party finally came clean
(by error!) in their plan to win the next
election by nefarious means, as though
the more intelligent among us could not
figure this out with a guy of Clinton's
character elected to the highest office
in the land...."I smoked pot, yes....but I
did NOT inhale"......and who further educated us in that fellatio is not
a sexual
act ("I did not have sex with that woman"!)
and got us all really thinking reconsidering
and re-evaluating the meaning of the word
"is"!!
Don't get me wrong. He's an intelligent
guy....but he lacks a little something when
it comes to "honor" and "integrity".
And people still pay good money to
hear this guy "speak". Simply amazing!!
Intelligent he is but as to caliber of ethics
and morals? So, it can be seen where
the average "Joe Public" is "coming from"
these days...it's gettin' dumber and dumber for sure.
Now we have our ACLU wanting to
ban Christmas....well, why not? After
all, we have a judiciary over here that
has decided they're now a "legislative"
arm of government, both local and
national!!
Me? I laugh at the whole thing pretty
much 'cause I never get to bothered over
things I cannot control....though I am
sensitive and aware as a sentient, intelligent human being, who is not
given
to hiding his head in the sand so as to
avoid hearing all the bad news that's out
there today. And smart enough to know
it's subconcious affect on "the whole".
Besides, I am on the "down side", agewise. I won't be inheriting the
fallout
from the decline we've experienced in
the quality of leadership over the last
40 years....."The fish rots from the head"...and I'm all the way at the
tail-end
so to speak. By the time it gets to where
I am, I'll have departed this reality.
Hell....I knew all this was coming when
the Warren Commission report came out
subsequent to the JFK coup de'tat 40
years ago...just wish to hell I'd been
wrong...but I was "balls on accurate"
right.....I can't believe it myself. I was
only 21 years old on the time and I hit
the nail right on the head....unreal.
And until we know what really happened
that day and the "why" (along with the "who" in terms of the powers
behind this
event)....we will never be able to "get
better".....clue: our elected officials do
not run things...they are "window dressing" for the masses.
