Although it was me who said mark the flange it was only 'cos that is what the books tell one to do.
I never bother.
The bolt positions are such that there are two positions it will fit, and two that it will not..
You don't find out untill you come to install bolt#2, but it is no great hassle. I don't think ballance is effected in any way.
