Roger
I used a company called Brown Brothers, who I believe are part of the Partco
group. They're based down in Guildford, but I think they have other outlets all
over the country. They're primarily an auto-factor for the Motor Trade and do
a lot more than paint.
The paint I used was brand named Tetrosyl, they also do ICI Autopaints, but as
that works out at about 20% more expensive than Tetrosyl I used Tetrosyl ;)
I also got an 'own-brand' 2.5L tub of filler from them for about 15 quid I think it
was, when you consider that Isophon p40 or p38 from Halfords is about ten
quid for 600g, that was a pretty good deal, specially as you sand most of it off
anyway lol
The one thing about Brown Brothers is, you have to collect the stuff yourself,
they won't deliver it to you unless you're a registered business. This is
something to do with laws relating to the safe 'disposal' of toxic substances, if
they deliver it to you, they're responsible for the safe 'disposal' of it, if they
deliver it to a registered business, the business is responsible for the
disposal of it, if you go pick it up yourself, you're responsible for disposing of
it.
I've kept all of the old paint tins, thinner cans and used thinners, and will take
it all up to the local refuse centre when I'm finished as they have areas for
toxic substance disposal.
