Nigel...
Yes, this is the season for inclement
weather ok. No doubt about it. Over
here, the coldest January we've had
in the Northeast US in 30+ years,
with a goodly amount of snow as well.
"Good enough"? What does one say?
This is like asking me whether your
choice of girl is good enough in any
respect, Nigel!! :):)
Good enough is when YOU think it is
good enough! Seriously. No one else
can judge this but you. If it makes YOU
happy, it is certainly IS good enough for
and your opinion on this is all that
counts, really.
The foregoing having been said
and while knowing you only to
the extent one can in an email list
situation, I am pretty sure that good enough in your case would pretty
much
be considered "concours"!! :):)
Isn't it great when somebody else comes
over who hasn't seen the machine in some time and admires your handy
work and most definitely your paintwork in
terms of quaility of appearance?
And most especially so when you have
taken a great deal of hard work over time
to get it "right" 'cause its being done at
the worst time of the year, weather-wise?
Most especially so considering YOU know
any tiny flaw that may be on any panel?
I have painted before and it doesn't take
much to screw it up, including the tiniest
of grit in the damn gun. Comes with the
territory and all fixable. Just look at it as
another thin coat of "filler" which, when
properly attended to will make the final
good coat look that much smoother.
I know it's more of a PITA, most especially at this point but just hang
in
there a bit longer with the positive
attitude 'cause it's all going to show
through with respect to the final coat,
in any event. Thus, the comment of
your buddy on the other finished panels,
no doubt? I mean sometimes a "mistake"
is a good thing in the long run. I'm not
just saying this to be a good guy...it is
really the case as long as the error is
properly attended to.
Sure, would like to see photos any time
it's convenient for you.
The ones I am really looking forward to
are those featuring the finished product
with at least one of you standing by the
car with a huumungous self-satisfied grin on your face which somehow, I
just know
is going to be there. :):)
Lotta work man, lotta work! But it's going
to feel sooo good 'cause it's going to look
that great. It sure as hell was for me
and I see no reason why it should be any
different for you. Hang in there man!! :)
