I think the silver on blue badges were for cars up to GAN5-118599, where
there were one on each wing, the blue on silver ones were from GAN5-118599
onwards where only one was used on the passenger side wing, and these are
the stick on ones.
Not sure about why the BL logo wasn't used on cars exported to Arab
countries, but apparently it was substituted for a 'unique' MG logo instead. My
hunch tells me this was more to do with 'branding' and that the MG logo
would be seen as having more 'prestige' in the Arab world than the BL one
which would probably have it's own negative connotations to the Arabs. So in
my mind it was more to do with marketing and market positioning than
anything else.
