I agree with Margaret. A few years ago, I was privileged to attend a Scotch tasting session at the Scotch Institute in Edinburgh. We tasted about 15 different types and could taste the difference between Scotch made in the Valley and half way up the mountain of the same valley. Or at least we thought we could..... for about an hour , when people started to drop off!!!!!!! The one thing they stressed was that for serious tasters and connoisseurs, adding 2 to 5 drops of water from an eye dropper releases the "nose" and increases the enjoyment with out diluting the scotch. I have taken to adding 1/2 ice cube to my single malt and I like it that way. You know the "mericans......"kinky" with the use of ice cubes.......lol
