You may misunderstand Nigel.
What he is saying is that in simply doing
a major tune-up in a logical step by step
fashion (by the book), you would
undoubtedly discover the cause (or
causes) of your problem.
He recommends this (no doubt) as it takes into account the possible
early
failure of "new" parts.
He's simply advocating another tried and
true method of (logical) "attack". :):)
