Hi all
I have just bought my first MG having previously had Morris Minors
and latterly Mini Coopers.She is a 79 1500 in vermillion. She was a
little bit rough but generally solid with only 2 owners and 70,000
miles on the clock. Having coaxed it back onto the road (and through
an MOT) she is now looking rather smart apart from the hood. The
original vinyl has been replaced with an astonishingly expensive
mohair one which has shrunk so much that I daren't put it up for
fear of cracking the windscreen! They were made out of vinyl for a
reason!! Can anybody advise me on where to get a nice cheap original
pattern vinyl hood from? Moss are very expensive whilst some of the
other manufacturers hoods seem to have an extra fastner at the
forward face of the velcro for some reason.
Until then it's the tonneau cover and cold ears!
