cwt = a hundredweight, the "C" is from latin for 100.
Only 1cwt isn't 100 lbs as you might expect it to be
Its 112 lbs, or 8 stone (1 stone = 14 lbs)
Clear?
Its proper English weights, not that metric stuff they use in Europe.
