Hi James
Welcome to the group.
The original hood material was made by ICI under the trade
name 'Vynide'. You can tell an 'original Vynide' hood by the
diamond pattern on the lining. The Moss hoods are made by the
same people who made the original hoods - and use the
original jigs, and are as close to that 'Vynide' material as you'll
get. Moss OE hoods cost round =A3140.00.
You can try the MGOC, they do a cheaper version at =A3115, or their
OE hood made from 'Everflex' at =A3125. I have no idea how these
compare, or how they compare to the Moss hood, but you do
tend to get what you pay for. I don't like the MGOC and avoid
buying anything from them because I don't think they act in the
interests of their members and are just a money spinning
enterprise for Roche Bentley their self appointed Chairman.
Notice how anyone can buy from Moss Spares, but only
members get access to other 'MGOC Services'.
Personally, I'm going for the Moss hood when I get to that stage.
At the end of the day - you pays ya money - ya takes ya choice.
Nigel
