Hi, Vince...
I had 155/80's (or 78's...whatever!:) on my
'67....no problems. Actually, I subjectively
felt the larger tire improved grip and appreciated the slightly lower
revs
at normal highway cruise speeds.
This having been said...
you may still be able to obtain 145/80's
at SEARS.
