Hit a mild problem with the front end of the 1500, no surprise the
suspension at the front is wobbling about. Passenger side turns out
to actually have a good kingpin on it, but the lower wishbone bush is
shot, it's way off centre and wobbling about like a good'un. Having
drilled the coter pin out (which appeared to be fitted upside down,
with the nut on the underside?)the trunion bolt(?) holding the
kingpin on if stuck solid to it, so I have had to take a hacksaw to
it. The two ends of it that were in the wish bone just about fell out
once the kingpin was cut free.
The other side is interesting, kingpin flapping about like no
tomorrow however no movent in the wish bone at all, it is also very
hard to unbolt the wishbone from the kingpin. The cotter pin is
present but appears to have no effect on much. The lower kingpin bush
is shot on this side. How do I get this out? do I have to drill it
out or will it come with a bit or work?, there is about 30 degrees of
movement in the bolt but thats it.
