Hi, Edward...
I just sent you a link to a PerTronix supplier
which may be helpful to you. Also, LBCarCo
carries these at reasonable prices. MiniSpares/MiniMania as well.
The Crane set-up uses an optical sensor rather than an HED however, I've us
ed
Cranes for many years in the past on both
PO'd "tuned" VW Bug and '74 Spridget and have found them to be ultra
dependable/reliable as well.
The only reason I prefer the PerTronix today is that it has no external box
, wires, etc. and is instead, totally self-contained within the dizzy. That
and the fact I am
comfortable with HED's having flown airplanes so equipped for the last 20 y
ears
or so.
The latest PerTronic (or "Ignitor" as Lucas/Aldon refers to them?) is dwell
"active" for better output at higher rpms
(at a few bucks increase in price, to be sure!:).
