Well, Bob.... Guess I'm just a meat eatin', bird shootin', deer
slayin'', varmit killin', kinda guy. You ever see what a couple of
coyotes'll do to a dog? We got 'em out here that eat calves and will
take down a full grown cow if hungry enough. That's about $1200 right
out of some poor farmer's pocket. We also got mountain lions. You get
that close to nature and you get a little different view of her sweet,
little, furry critters. Bob - I'm tellin' ya, it's dog eat dog out
there!!
Besides. You call animal control folks and ask 'em about pidgeons.
All they will tell you is it's illegal in most areas to kill 'em.
They'll give you some things to try, but they'll then tell you that,
mostly, none of it works. Also, if they later suspect you killed some
to git rid of the ba$tard$, they'll turn you in!!! Some help, huh!
Yeah, I know Brad's a Texan - even if he is a city boy. Anybody that
feeds furry things to a snake is OK in my book!
Now - - all that said, you've seen my fur kids, so how bad of a guy
can I be??!!
There are some good, sound reasons for us to control mom nature's
critter population since we already slaughtered all their natural
enemies into extintion. One year I had to help one of my Fish & Game
buddies kill a herd of about 40 Bambii because we had so damned many
of them that they were starving to death and there was no forage left
for them nor any way to get any to them. It was mercy killing. What
would you have done?
You just gotta get outta the city more, Bob! ;-)
