Sure, Nigel....
...the cars as the judges "felt they should have been" rather than as
the imperfect
contrivances they really were.
Every now and then, one will catch old
films of the Frogeyes coming off the boat as they arrived in the US and
the fit of
the body panels is hilarious, especially
of course, the bonnets!
I enjoy the concours events immensely
with respect to the cars and talking to
their owners, most especially those who
do most, if not all of their own work. The
people are as interesting as the cars and
I appreciate to at least some extent, the time, effort and money spent
to make the car "as", if not "better" than new.
As for myself, I never hang around for
the judging. This part of it I could personally care less about. To me,
those
cars "put together" by their own owner's
are all winners to one extent or another...
.....it's a lot of GD work!
