I'll tell you......maybe you should leave
it as is and just fix the oil leak(s). For
what you've got is an excellent (though
unintended) anti-corrosion/rust coat, if
you seriously think about it. It's also a
sound deadener as well.
One of the best "coats" one can use to
"insulate" the body is....tar.
