For one inch of split / rusty seam.
Nigel writes
"...you'll have to take the entire seam off, determine how much of the
rear wing/rear body deck is rotten, cut out the rot and replace with
new steel."
This is precisely the way to turn a mildly rusty runner into a 5 year
restoration project.
(Yes this is the correct way but, come on , if this is the only
problem it would be far better to derust, put a bit of filler on and
touch up ( I mean the paintwork Chris) then ENJOY the car and do a
rolling resto.
Naturally if there are major underying problems then leave this
particular car well alone and enlist a local Midget owner to help you
look for another. Its amazing how many good Spridgets get passed
on between members in the know, rather than end up in the open market
place.
PS a good place to look is the Midget and sprite clubs for sale and
wants web page. Probably got to be a member though for the password.
P.S. Chris did you get the Concordes last flight , didn't it fly over
your house?
