Nooooooooo, don't do that!
Most of the 'from' addresses are spoof ones. I've had spam mails
(supposedly) from English Academic Institutions, so I've emailed back (not
using the address it came from) to the abuse department at that Academic
Institution complaining about the spam mail and all they've done is emailed
me back saying, very sorry, we've checked our systems and it didn't come
from us.
And for goodness sake don't reply to the 'If you want to be removed from this
list' addresses, because all that does it confirm to them your email address is
current and valid, and before long you'll get double the amount of spam you
had before as they sell your address on.
Without a doubt the best defence against spam email is to use 'throw-away'
registration addresses like I have on here. I use a Hotmail account for here,
so once the spammers start bombarding this account, I'll just delete it and
set up a new one. I guard my 'real' isp host email address resolutely, rarely
ever using it for registration on anything.
