Hi all
I have tried bolting a clip onto a bit of steel first and fitting the trim
strip before I pop rivit the clips to the car. This is the strip on the
sill and there are 7 clips per side all the same. The returns on the trim
are equal so there is no up or down.
The only way I can see this working is to insert the trim into the angled
part of the clip and push up (or down) hard, push the top of the trim over
the rounded part of the clip (in my case the return on the trim is above the
rounded part of the clip so it just flops over), then press the trim down
into the rounded part of the clip. If I do this the angled part of the clip
just holds the trim. However the ears on the angled part are tight against
the panel so it might be I just need a good push to get it to go in.
