I read somewhere that officially there has never been a British Racing Green
colour.
I think I'm right in saying that the first proper use of the colour was
back in the 1920s when the Bentley Boys went over and wupped the Johny
Foreigners @sses.
The colour (or similar to) was used by mainly GP British race teams up to
the early sixties when advertising came in. Colin Chapman was the first to
do this (remember the John Player specials?), but his Lotus's were painted a
version of BRG in the 50's as were the ERAs . Coventry climax , Jaguars etc
etc
Each European country did have it's own colour for their race cars, I'm sure
a web search would find them. (France was blue, but then what about
Buggatis?, someone must know)
