My Mk3 Midget, (Ava) has the same problem. The hood is very difficult to
clamp down. Sometimes it takes two of us to do it. It's a lot better now than it
was 10 years ago when I had the rebuild. New body shell, original hood frame,
new hood. It's also easier when the weather is warmer, and I daren't even think
about putting the hood up in winter. I've broken too many nails to try that
again!!
