That can be very frustrating, paying good money for a new pump, that
should last at least ten years only to have it fail due to sloppy
manufactoring. Not to mention the time spent trying to find the
problem.
How did you determine it was your fuel pump?

PS if we are going to be sent defective parts can we pay them with
defective dollars?
