Terry,
Mine's 45mm on the (RH) driver's side and 40mm on the passenger side - it's
obvious that the spring bar on mine is also distorted side-to-side - you
can fit a thumb in the gap between the tip of the bumper blade and the wing
on the RH side and barely a little finger on the LH side. Do the tips of
the bumper come as far as the wheelarch on yours, looking from the side?
The spring bar is a good place to start checking, as they're not all that
strong, and if the car does have a shunt, it probably seems easy to just
replace the chrome bits and straighten out the bar behind.
I didn't measure how far the brackets protrude from the valance, because I
have an oddball front valance - sometime in the 80s BL sold replacement
ones which used 1500 pressings but without the cut out, just a dimple.
