Since they improved the A1 Ferry Meadows has become a bit of a bugger to get
to unless you know your way around Peterborough, you could at one time just
turn off the A1 at Alwalton drive for a couple of miles and there you were.
I think the easiest way, although maybe not the most direct would be as
follows:-
Travelling north on the A1
Take the slip road at junction 16 towards Yaxley, south of Peterborough
At the roundabout at the top of the slip road take the third (or maybe
fourth) exit marked Yaxley
Follow this road for a couple of miles and you will come to the Yaxley
traffic lights, go straight on over the lights
Continue on this road (called London road ) over two more sets of traffic
lights and two roundabouts always staying on London road in the direction of
Fletton and woodston passing the appropriately named frogs life. Note you
must make sure you stay on London road through the roundabouts since which
road is straight on may not be all that apparent, if you are not sure look
for signs for Fletton and Woodston
After 3 or 31/2 miles you will come to Fletton traffic lights go straight
over
Immediately over the lights the road starts to curve to the right and you
must now turn left into New road ( junction marked with bollards).
At the end of New road you will come to a 'T' junction Turn left, You are
now on Oundle road
Continue on Oundle road for a couple of miles, past the Gordon Arms and a
couple of mini roundabouts through two or three more sets of lights and a
couple of small roundabouts until you see Notcuts Garden centre on your
right, there is a roundabout immediately after the Notcuts sign, Ferry
Meadows (also known as Nene Park is the third exit off this roundabout.
This may sound a bit complicated however if you follow it accurately you
will have no problems and you will also see signs for Ferry Meadows and Nene
park along the way.
