RBH,
Did I mention that I put an electronic ignition on the car? The 1500's ran an optical distributor stock so I replaced the resistor etc with an aftermarket ignition. I think it's a Crane but it was done 5 yrs ago (early in the rejuvenation) and I forget.
I should be up against some form of plug gap problem from what I'm reading (hearing?).
