I'd like to chip in if I may. I did the conversion on a Neg. ground car ('75 Midget) and took the overloading of the wires advice to heart based on LBC and other experts testimony. I chose a 62 amp GM alternator that was original to pickups mostly from '63-80. It fit and I don't worry about overloading the wiring. It gives nearly twice the amps of the OEM Lucas which should handle anything a reasonable car nut could want.
