As a temporary measure, you could get one of those aerials with a
swivel/ball and socket at the base and turn the rod part 90 degrees from
it's normal mounting position on a flat surface. It'll stick out a little
from the side, but will fill the hole and do the aerial thing, till you
find the proper type.
