I've been meaning to post this FWIW, but have forgotten for a few
months.
My Sprite began a random misfire. Checked all the usual culprits, but
couldn't find the problem. I didn't suspect the spark plugs because
they were only a few thousand miles old, and they looked perfect -
light brown insulators, no visible cracks or tracking. Since nothing
else worked, I decided to try new plugs. Advance Auto Parts had Bosch
Platinum for $1.79 ea, so I put in a set. Problem solved.
