First, have you converted to negative earth? If not, you may well have some
trouble with this!
For the connections, the easiest way is to see if you can find a post '85
Metro or 1.3 Maestro in a scrapyard (shouldn't be too hard - can't be many
running still!) and cut the relevant bit of the wiring loom off, with
moulded one-way connector still attached. Hopefully, it should have a black
wire (earth), a white wire (coil +ve or SW terminal) and a white with black
tracer (coil -ve or CB terminal).
