Same principle as A series or any other
head. Larger intake valves improve breathing in terms of "mass flow"
at the expense of "velocity" in terms of low end torque.
Like everything else, it's a compromise
situation, as in upgrading cam. You give
up a little at the bottom or a little more in
the middle and top.
