OK assuming you also have the super profile by Lindsay Porter take a look on Page 41, this shows the interior of the area in question quiet well!
Now the floor panel pressing never changed from 1958 - 1979, the captive nuts that hold quarter or semi elliptic spring hangers to the floor are in the same place. This means that the bolts that hold one to the floor can be used to hold Mk1 spring hangers in the correct place on a later shell.
Ok the part that runs up the vertical face that holds the upper link to the rear axel has nothing holding it on to the vertical face of the shell, well now what we do is cut away at the inner side behind the seats, straight down from where the 'rear chassis rail end' so we can now see the other side of the vertical face. Using the Mk1 spring hanger as a template we drill holed for the bolts, bolt them up and we the nuts to the inner face of this area. and then weld a plate in to close this area off. now we add a top hat section to the floor, and one running from the floor to the 'chassis rail' , now have I missed anything?
That is a lot easier than repairing what I have got! it has been sooo botched up over the years I am peeved that heritage don do a Mk1 shell, What I would like is a heritage shell with no external panels on it as I think the 1500 may be kept..
