David,
Thanks. It's the windshield/windscreen that I'm addressing, and
not the side windows which are okay. I have the complete assembly
off the car, and as you noted, I removed the two securing bolts
located on each side up under the dash. What a pain they were to get
at. The top moulding retaining screws were removed, providing access
to the glass encased in the bottom and sides. The seal around the
glass was pulled out, and the glass removed. The frame to body seal
seems crimped in place on the bottom (in the groove), and is a real
bear to remove. Will cut it away, and look for the screws that you
mention to remove one of the sides. I'm hoping to get away with
having to remove only one side to fit the new glass and seals in
place.
Before reinstalling the new glass, was thinking about installing the
peripheral hardware from the visor kit that VB advertises. The
standard setup involves rivets on the frame for the holders. If
anyone has purchased and installed, would be interested in hearing
your thoughts (quality, value, etc.).
Thanks,
Pete
