I would be the first to admit that Terry Horler's book contains errors, albeit
minor ones.
But I can quote you 3 different sources that state that Teal Blue was not a
colour option on 1500 Midgets, so in this instance I think Terry Horler is
correct.
There's a couple of things that I don't quite understand about why you think
your car is painted in Teal Blue. Firstly - what makes you think it's Teal Blue?
there are no paint codes on the bodywork, in fact the only way you can guess
at it's colour is by comparing it with colour swatches which is a very
unreliable way of identifying a colour. I actually thought my car was Teal Blue
until I got a BMHIT Trace certificate done which stated that it was in fact Blue
Royale - just goes to show you cannot 'guess' at colours from the outside.
My car was in fact painted in Teal Blue - hence my assumption, but then it had
got to Teal Blue via Red!
Secondly, the fact that it is painted all over in that colour is no reliable guide
as to what the original colour was - it could have been anything for you know,
and the only real way of knowing a cars original colour is to get a Trace
Certificate done. Which I presume you haven't, because otherwise you
wouldnt be so sure that it was painted in Teal Blue!
Lastly, by saying your car is painted in Teal Blue (without actually knowing for
sure what it's original colour was) is a very unreliable way of pointing out
that someone who actually knows one hell of a lot about Midgets and Sprites
is wrong in his book.
With the greatest respect to you Stewart, you really do need to be 100%
positive about what your cars original colour was before you start accusing
people of making errors.
