Is the rod attached from the center dash to the top center of the windshield
necessary for the windshield frame's structural strength? In early models
it was used to mount the rear view mirror but later models have the rear
view mirror attached directly to the top frame but the rod was still left in
place. If it is not necessary to keep the frame from spreading apart in the
middle I want to remove it.
